Heather Harrison
I trained as a graphic designer at both Ravensbourne and the Central School of Art, and then worked for several major London design groups in the 1960s and 70s. Painting has always been my first love though, and during that time I began selling my work through an agent in Chelsea, much of which went to American collectors.
Working on a wide range of subjects that capture my imagination, I initially base my work on observation drawing. My main interests are still life, portraits, anything nautical, plus the occasional landscape. My most recent work is focussed on a new series of flower paintings, with a strong emphasis on colour and design.
I am an exhibiting member of the Welland Valley Arts Society and Rutland Open Studios. Past exhibitions have been at Sands Gallery in Harrogate, and more recently at the Strand Gallery in Aldeburgh.
